Description

I've been thinking long and hard about whether to post this picture or not. I think it's not bad, just horribly boring. But really, does it cost anything to just throw it here and see whether it sticks?

I wish I knew the difference between 465 and 466. Those two things look 100% the same. Is it that one has two parts and the other four? That is my best guess so far, but knowing British Rail (who had them built), I wouldn't be surprised if both had two- and four-car versions, and the difference is that one had the electricity shoes from scrapped trains built in 1938 and the other from scrapped trains built in 1948 or something.

Its a bit more complicated(and possibly more boring)465/1 were built at BREL Derby(now Bombardier)465/2 and 466 were built at Metropolitan-Cammell,Washwood Heath,Birmingham.465's are four car trains,466 two car.465/1 units have different motors, rounder windows and ventilation units above the windows. Some 465/2 units have been refurbished with first class seats and renumbered 465/9.All were built brand new with no recycled parts. They were quite advanced for their time(aluminium bodies,no seperate subframes, the first trains on the North Kent lines to have toilets, sliding doors and connecting doors between carriages)and certainly an improvement on the trains they replaced. And before anyone says it,yes I do need to get out more.
