People complained that I don't post any new pictures. So today (well, technically yesterday, but I haven't slept yet) I went to Cologne to take at least a few standard shots. In particular, I didn't want to take pictures of belgian trains yet again. But fate had something different for me in store. Or, to be more precise, DB Systemtechnik.
Apparently, they wanted to test something on the line from Aachen to the border, and needed a belgian locomotive to do so (german electric engines don't work with the belgian voltage there). 2711 got the job and is here running around the train, presumably after it arrived in Aachen from a previous journey. Then, it coupled to the train and presumably departed for belgium again.
An interesting thing: This locomotive did all of its shunting with two red lights on either end. This is very much not how it's done in Germany (either a single white light at either end or three white lights at either end), but maybe this is a belgium regulation. German rules do not fully apply to belgian trains that only go into Aachen central station.
Und in Sachen Lichter: In Köln West kam mal ein Erzzug mit 189er Doppel vorbei, aber vorne mit zwei roten. Ich glaub da hat jemand nicht aufgepasst... ^^
