There is quite a lack of DR locomotives here on DA. Sure, there are lots of Ludmillas and 143s, but not much else. So how about another DR V 60?

The V 60 of east Germany is a light-to-medium switcher that can also used for local freight trains, and is a direct replacement for the pre-war class 80 steam locomotive. A number of them were directly delivered to factories all over the country, to handle internal movements. D-02, belonging to Fels, the owner of the quarries in Rübeland, might be one of them, but could also have been bought from former DR stock.

An oddity is the label "funkferngesteuert", meaning "remote controlled". The remote control is not so odd, most switching diesels seem to have it these days, but unlike the US, it's rare that someone bothers to announce it here in europe in this way.

A bit stronger than our SM42 [link] but probabily made for the same purpose. :)

I guess so. The polish railways probably had a different kind of steam locomotive for this purpose, so they built a different kind of diesel to replace it.

I suppose it's been a common practice to build small diesel for "station operation" and bigger for "heavy duty" ;)
